Following figures are given in the question.

  • V ⇒ 3V (Volts)
  • I ⇒ 2A (Ampere)

The total resistance in a series circuit is equal to ⇒ the sum of the individual resistances:

RN(series) = R1+ R2+ R3+…+ RN

  • Series: A number of things that follow on one after the other or are connected one after the other.
  • Resistance: The opposition to the passage of an electric current through that element.

Suppose, n resistances of 6 ohm are connected in parallel and the resultant resistance=R
  • 1/R = n/6
  • R = 6/n
By ohm's law V = IR
  • 3 = 2 x 6/n
  • 3 = 12 / n
  • 3 x n = 12
  • n = 12 / 3
  • n = 4

Hence, 4 bulbs are connected in parallel.
