Prestashop is one of the leading open source eCommerce CMS. To fix the bugs, adding new features and improve the security, application developer provides the updates. Speaking about Prestashop, you can upgrade the package via manually (FTP) or using the Modules (1 Click Upgrade) or using the cPanel auto – installer (Softaculous). Sometime after upgradation of Prestashop CMS, your site might be crashed.

Which means, you might get your front page as old-style text-only page with limited graphic content. To solve this problem, follow the below steps.

  1. First disable all caches via Advanced Parameters > Performance
  2. Go to Preference > Themes
  3. Temporarily select and apply a different theme without resizing the images. (In case, only one theme, please Google for free Prestashop theme and install it via Preference > Themes > Add new theme)
  4. Now switch to the original theme without resizing images
  5. Done…!

We have successfully tested this trick on PrestaShop 1.6.0.x. We recommend to backup a site for safety purpose.
