I encountered with following error when uploading the image file from OpenCart admin panel.

This error most time link to php.ini file and directory permission.

  1. First, confirm the public_html> image directory permission level is set to 755. If not then visit how to change file or directory permission.
  2. Still not solved then, create/edit  php.ini  file at below path
    1. Home directory where public_html is located.
      allow_url_fopen = On
      allow_url_include = Off
      asp_tags = Off
      display_errors = Off
      enable_dl = Off
      file_uploads = On
      max_execution_time = 30
      max_input_time = 60
      max_input_vars = 1000
      memory_limit = 128M
      post_max_size = 8M

    2. public_html directory or a directory where OpenCart is installed.
