Autoptimize is one of the smart plugins from the basket of WordPress Cache plugin. Moreover, some features of Autoptimize cache system are available with premium/paid plugins. However, it lacks auto purging / cleaning the cache files. Especially cached script (.js) files. The developers of Autoptimize clearly mentioned on their official blog as a confession. Ignoring this may lead to disk full warning or occupy large amount disk space unnecessarily.

How to optimize Autoptimize Cache

You can prevent Autoptimize cache size getting too big by following simple steps.
Purging Autoptimize Cache

  1. Open WordPress Admin Panel
  2. Settings > Autoptimize
  3. Navigate to Javascript Options > Also aggregate inline JS? > Uncheck it (if checked)
  4. Scroll down below, and click on button Save Changes and Empty Cache
  5. Done.!

It will clear all stock caches created by Autoptimize plugin. Moreover, you can manually clean the cache created by any cache plugins via FTP or cPanel. But don’t forget to backup your site.
